There is no specific period when the steel was invented. In 2000 an ironware piece made of steel was unearthed from an archaeological site in Ankara, Turkey. It is a 4000 years old steel piece and is believed to be the oldest in the world. This new research has changed the earlier belief of archaeologists that the steel was invented in the period dating back from 14th to 12th centuries B.C.
