In 1827, George Shillibeer introduced the first school bus for Quaker school at Abney Park in Stoke Newington in the North-East of United Kingdom. It was horse-drawn and designed to carry 25 children. The rear-engine diesel-powered school bus was introduced in 1959 by Gillig Bros. Collin Bus introduced the first small school bus in 1967 and later in 1973 by the Wayne Busette.
Stoke Newington is in the North-East of London, not of the United Kingdom.
I thought school buses weren’t around in the 1900’s, let alone the 1800’s!
