When was Microscope invented?

In 1590, the first microscope was invented in Middelburg in Netherland. The credits are given to two eye glass makers- Hans Lippershey for his development of an early telescope and Hans Janssen. In 1625, from Galileo Galilei’s compound microscope, the name microscope was coined by Giovanni Faber. In the late 1670, Antony Van Leeuwenhoek made the practical microscope. The electron microscope was co invented in 1931 by Ernst Ruska.
