The telephone beeper or pager was invented in 1949 by Al Gros and in Jewish Hospital in New York it was first used. Until 1958, it was not approved for public use by FCC. In 1959, it was first named as pager by Motorola when the personal radio communications product was made by them. In the year 1974, the Motorola’s Pageboy 1 was introduced which was the first pager to be consumer successful.
