When was Aqualung invented?

In the year 1943, Jacques Cousteau and Emile Gagnan invented the aqualung. It is trademark equipment that allows the divers to breathe under water. The divers wear the oxygen cylinder on their back that supply air to their lungs.

    The aqua lung does NOT use oxygen as an air source. It uses compressed air. Compressed oxygen cannot be used below about 32 feet as it, causes all sorts of problems leading to unconsciousness or death.
